Meet Theresa Butori

About: Theresa came to SWU from Anderson University where she worked as the Assistant Director of Instructional Design. Starting in 2007, she has worked with faculty members in using Blackboard and Moodle and transition to online teaching and learning. She has also taught online since 2004, teaching math and Excel spreadsheets for major online universities such as WGU and SNHU.

Areas of interest: Projects, performance assessment, rubrics, and course design.

Something you may not know about Theresa is that she has five younger brothers. She was born in Chicago and goes there to visit family which includes eight nieces and nephews. She started her career as an elementary science teacher in the Chicago Public Schools.

If I could tell the SWU faculty one thing, it would be that you can ask us anything, we are here to assist you in your transition to or if you just want to enhance your online teaching and learning.

Meet Tyler Watts

About: Tyler served as the Associate Director of Online Learning & the Center for Teaching Excellence at Bainbridge State College, prior to coming to SWU. He has worked in online learning and faculty development at various institutions both in the United States and internationally. He has also taught business and literature courses at various institutions.

Areas of interest: Authentic assessment, course design, universal design for learning, and open educational resources.

Something you may not know about Tyler is he’s a Hawaii-born, California-native who comes to SWU via Georgia and Vietnam. If you want to see him struggle, just ask him where he’s from.

If I could tell the SWU faculty one thing, it would be to come meet with us! We want to know how we can help you achieve success in your classes and to provide the tools and resources that will assist you as you serve our students and our community. We look forward to working alongside you!

Meet Your CTE

The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) at SWU has a lot of new folks and this space will be a place where you can check in regularly for news, updates and to get to know what your CTE is up to.

As you may already know, the CTE is here to support faculty (and the wider SWU community) in:
